"Scientists say we need to protect 30% of the planet by 2030 or climate change can cause a lot of problems." -Justin

STEP 1 RAISING AWARENES WHY WE NEED TO
PROTECT 30% OF THE  PLANET BY 2030

Lesson 1: Did You Know...

NATURE IS DISAPPEARING AND IT IS AFFECTING ANIMALS AND HUMANS

PROBLEM:

People are illegally cutting down the rainforest.

The planet is our home and people and animals need the planet to survive.

Lesson 2: Did You Know...

We need trees to breathe.
We need trees to absorb the gases and remove Carbon Dioxide from the air.

WHY WE NEED TO PROTECT THE RAINFORESTS:

Forest preservation and restoration could potentially capture as much as 1/3 of the greenhouse gases we need to remove from the atmosphere by 2030 to keep the earth’s temperature rise to 1.5C (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change).

Biodiversity, the diversity of life on Earth, is essential to the healthy functioning of ecosystems. Habitat loss and overexploitation, driven by our rapid population growth and unsustainable consumption patterns, are the primary causes of biodiversity loss which is now happening up to ten thousand times faster than for millions of years before.

STEP 2  CREATING CHANGE

WETLANDS TO WORLDWIDE.
Justin's project has expanded to a global campaign to clean up the planet.  He is currently working on protecting 30% of the planet by 2030 by purchasing 244 acres of land in Ecuador with his Reserva Youth Council. This is home to some of the rarest and most exotic frogs in the world.

WHERE IS THE RESERVE LOCATED?

It’s about 244 acres and it’s in the Ecuadorian Choco Cloud Forest. It is in the Andes mountain range along the coast of Ecuador.  And the site is just up in the tip of Ecuador just on the boarder of Columbia. And it is incredibly biodiverse but it is also extremely threatened by deforestation.
